THE MARKET

Profile of the DECKARE customer:

  1. Homeowners, retailers, builders, and commercial property owners.
  2. Takes pride in the appearance of their home or place of business.
  3. Uses their deck or gazebo regularly.
  4. Knows the importance of maintaining the value of their property

According to Decorating Retailer magazine, 3 million new decks are built every year. There are approximately 40 million decks in existence, which are aging and have unique maintenance requirements. There are also millions of linear feet of docks and wooden fencing to be maintained. Pressure treated lumber is actually only protected against insects and dry rot, so wooden structures of all ages benefit from DECKARE's treatment.

The average deck can provide a 71% return on its cost when a home is sold, according to Remodeler magazine. A well-maintained deck may return all of the original cost and more, often being one of the top reasons a house sells or not. Gazebos, for example, can start as low as $1,800 and range up into the six-figures, according to the Wall Street journal -not an investment to be taken lightly. However, a beautiful, well-maintained deck can provide significantly better returns.

And DECKARE isn't just for residential areas. A viable commercial market also exists. Condominiums, resorts, apartment complexes, planned communities, restaurants, hotels, country clubs and builders may provide you with enormous opportunities.

There are currently 3,000 franchisors in the United States. Most of these franchised businesses are within mature markets like fast food and real estate. Presently, DECKARE stands alone within a currently undeveloped market with excellent potential.
